GREEK RESTAURANT · 5 DENMARK STREET · BRISTOL
Where Athens
meets the Hippodrome
A very small, family-owned Greek restaurant beside the Bristol Hippodrome. Charcoal grills, traditional recipes and Greek wines, cooked from fresh and served warm.
THE SIGN
A family table
on Denmark Street
The name hangs over the door in hand-set tiles: Hat, and in Greek, Καπέλο. Inside it is small, warm and family-owned. Traditional recipes and fresh ingredients that, in their own words, transport you straight to Athens.
Dinner before
the curtain rises
The kitchen opens from 4pm, and from the matinee on Wednesdays, timed around the Bristol Hippodrome next door. Mention your theatre tickets when you visit and take 10% off your food bill, before or after the show.
10% off your food bill for Hippodrome theatregoers
Special days excluded, e.g. New Year and Valentine's. A very small restaurant: booking is always advised.
Gone all Greek
with the wines
In their own words: sourced from independent wineries, directly from Greece. Poured by the glass and the bottle through their partnership with Dionysos Cellars. Ask what's open tonight.

Cooked from fresh
Good food takes time. The grill works to order, the moussaka is layered by hand, and the kleftiko comes off the bone when it is ready and not before.
